Learning colours can be tricky for kids. There are so many names to remember. Not to mention all the different shades to recognise! But don’t worry because using songs to teach colours will make teaching this difficult concept a breeze. Not only do they make learning fun, but they’ll also improve your toddler’s communication skills too!
My toddler is currently at the stage where he loves repeating colour names. He currently calls everything yellow! It’s totally normal for his stage of learning colours. But I’m looking forward to when we can move onto some of the more exciting stages.

Singing songs is one of the ways I started introducing my toddler to colour names.
The only song I knew was I Can Sing a Rainbow. I got bored singing it every day. So I got to work finding other nursery rhymes about colours.
It was much harder than I thought it would be.
At first, I found songs to teach colours that just said the colour names over and over. And they weren’t very engaging at all.
